Shalom Kitah Aleph!

This afternoon, while David took Eli with him to the glasses store to get his (David's, not Eli's) glasses fixed for the 100th time, I took Simon to go buy his books and supplies for first grade. Basically, the school sent a list and you can go to any number of stores that sell the books and supplies--you just tell them the school and the grade and they know what to give you without really looking at the list. I love how all the people in the store made such a fuss over Simon as going to first grade is a HUGE deal. Luckily the store wasn't crowded at all and we didn't have to wait. 658 shekels later, we were ready to move on to our next stop...the shirt store. There, there was a list of all the schools with the colors of shirts that each school allows. I wanted to get Simon 10 shirts to start so he picked the colors he wanted and then we waited in line for the guy with the printing press to print the logo of the school on the shirts. Another 160 shekels later, we were done.
Simon was not very impressed with the entire process but he was excited to show Eli his shirts when we got home. Then Eli wanted to know where his shirts were. They are in Simon's closet because at this rate we aren't going to be able to afford to get him his own when he goes to first grade!!
