Last weekend, David and I went up north to a small spa hotel in the Galil. The kids stayed with Marcia and had an amazing time, as usual. Eli was sad when we left before he went to bed on Thursday, but by the morning he forgot that he even had parents. The place was about 2 hours away and we got there in time for a late dinner Thursday night. On Friday, we went to Tzfat and just walked around for a few hours, enjoying being able to walk around without dealing with a stroller or whining or trying to find things for kids to do. It was really nice. We had to be back at the hotel by 4:00 because I had an aromatherapy massage scheduled and then we had a very nice Shabbos dinner there. Saturday was very relaxing with another massage and lots of reading and naps and walking around and playing Bananagrams and Rummikub.
While we were gone, the kids went to the beach on Friday. Marcia said it was a good thing her daughter Sarah went with them because the kids were crazy running and jumping in the water. I love that they got to go to the beach and I didn't have to deal with all the sand that comes home after a trip to the beach. On Saturday, she took them to her friend's house who leaves a few blocks from us and they had a great time playing with her 5 cats and her kids. Simon keeps asking me if we can go back to their house. He may or may not have played X-Box on Shabbos there. Apparently, when he was going to bed that night, he said to Marcia "we had a different kind of Shabbat today, right?"
Both kids seemed happy to see us in the morning and they loved the presents we brought them...the slippers from the hotel!!
