High Heels and a Cape

Yesterday morning, the kids were thrilled when right as David was about to take them to school it suddenly started to pour. Eli ran to the window shrieking "yesh geshem yesh geshem!!" ("there is rain there is rain!!") and they both were so excited to get to wear their boots, rainjackets and bring umbrellas. It was not as thrilling for David because it's a huge pain to deal with all that gear and it reminds me how happy I am to not have a long winter of boots, jackets, gloves and hats ahead of me!
Of course it stopped raining as soon as David was done dropping them off. David ran to the supermarket to get a couple of last minutes things and then saw the Klahrs and the Moores having breakfast at the new Hungarian bakery that opened so he stopped to join them while I slaved away in the kitchen. At least he brought me a something that I can't remember what it was called but apprently it is "authentic Hungarian." I say that's a load of crap because it was nothing I recognized and nothing that Mama had ever made or that my dad had ever described eating in Hungary. Also it was kind of light and flaky and not dense and full of oil and eggs and margarine the way a chocolate rolard is! I didn't like it all that much.
Abby, Jonny, Jake and Emily came for dinner Friday night. The boys were excited because Abby brought them a Cars memory game from London as well as Smarties (those were really for me). Everyone played more or less nicely together and no furniture fell on anyone (last time we were at their house, Eli tried to climb the wall unit in their playroom and it fell on Simon's head--no major injuries), so we called the evening a success.
This morning David and Eli eventually went to shul and Simon stayed home to help me clean up a little and then we went to shul just in time to go the park. We went to the Klahr's for lunch and ate outside to enjoy the absolutely perfect weather. Simon was happy because he loves playing with Boaz and Dylan was there too. Eli played really nicely with Gabriella which surprised everyone since they have never really taken a liking to each other before so that was good. We stayed there until Shabbos was almost over and then we came home and the kids played for a little bit. They invented a new game called "Garbage Truck." The couch is the garbage truck and they both sit on it with a pillow separating them from the garbage. One of them is the driver and the other has to run around picking up things to be the garbage that has to go on the part of the couch to the left of the pillow.
After their bath and before bed, Eli did this (in case it's hard to see in the video, he is wearing pj bottoms, his blanket tied around him like a cape and my high heels):
