We didn't have such an exciting day today because of the raging monsoon outside. We didn't go anywhere--just hung out in our sweatpants for the whole day. Charles and Jen came for lunch and Simon ate tons and tons of salami (which he calls "mami" not to be confused with "Mommy"). This morning, David slept in and eventually Simon got bored of me and insisted on going upstairs to wake him up. We went up and Simon kept tugging at his shirt and trying to say something that we couldn't understand. When David got up and picked him up and started to go downstairs with him, Simon got really upset and was pointing at the bathroom and still tugging at his shirt trying to take it off. Turns out, he just wanted to take a shower! He played really nicely with all of his toys today and was just generally a really good boy. Last night, we went to potluck dinner at the Bernsteins and Simon was on his very best behavior. He was in heaven because Aviav has TONS of cars and airplanes and other things with wheels that he could drive all around. He stayed up the whole time and didn't fall asleep on the way home until we were literally outside our door. Sometimes staying up late is good because he slept late this morning until almost 9. Well, truth be told, he might have been up earlier but we forgot to turn on the monitor and we slept until almost 9. He was up when David went to check, but he definitely hadn't been up that long or wasn't trying to get our attention anyway because as we learned when he woke up from his nap in the afternoon, if is crying loud enough, we can hear him quite clearly without the monitor!!
