We Are Jet-Lagged!!

On Friday morning, Simon woke up at 5am and was STARVING. Not so surprising considering he hardly ate anything the whole time we were in Israel. He walked straight into the kitchen, pointed to his highchair and said "EAT NOW." He gobbled down a yogurt, tons of cheese crackers and a big cup of milk in about 5 minutes flat. Apparently he then ate another huge waffle breakfast at daycare. He was very happy to see all of his friends at daycare. When we got there, Francesca was the only other kid there. She ran over to him immediately yelling "Simo...Simo!!" He looked a little bit apprehensive but then he heard Josh's voice in the hallway and he starts saying "Josh! Josh!" As soon as Josh walked in they ran to each other and gave big hugs and then he hugged Francesca too. It was so cute! When I picked him up (and had to wake him because he had been asleep for almost 4 hours), Yaya told me that he had been so sweet all day, giving so many hugs. He didn't bite anyone, but not for lack of trying. Last night, we ate dinner really quickly and were all sound asleep by 7:15. At some point in the middle of the night, Air France brought our missing bag back, so that was good. I think it was actually 10 or 11pm, but it sure felt like the middle of the night!! This morning Simon woke up at 4:45 and was rearing to go. David got up with him, but I couldn't fall back to sleep so I got up too and we all played and read books for a while. Then we went back to sleep around 6:30. Simon was in our bed and I woke up at 8:30 because he was tapping my face and whispering "Mommy, Mommy." We had a whole conversation in whispers so as not to wake David. Eventually we went to shul and then to Charles and Jen's for lunch. We came home and slept until Shabbos was over. Simon is still up now in the hopes that if he goes to bed a little bit later maybe he will sleep past 5 am!
