This weekend we went to Florida for Grampa Sydney's shiva. There's no doubt that Grampa Syd would have loved to have been there and to see so many of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren all together. Simon had a fantastic time. He loves to play with his cousins, especially Ezra and Coby since the boys have to stick together. I think he felt very important every time Coby paid attention to him and he wanted to do everything that Coby did. It was very cute. It was fun seeing the 4 little kids playing together--they definitely break off into pairs with Simon and Ezra together and Annie and Bailey together, but they also played all together a few times, mostly just copying each other and shrieking. There were no biting incidents the entire time!!
On the flight down, there was an extra seat so Simon got his very own seat and tv. This was very exciting for him and he watched a college basketball game with no sound for the first 2 hours of the flight and then he went to sleep. He was NOT happy on the flight home today when he didn't get his own seat and he tried to make me get up so that he could have my seat. Eventually he gave in, but I don't think he was very happy about it.
On Friday, all of the kids went swimming even though the pool was FREEZING. Simon and Ezra finally decided it was too cold for them, so they took a nice warm outdoor shower instead (Simon's is the littler tush on the right in the picture). Simon loves to be outside--it makes him so happy. Once he went back inside, he was cold and I didn't have any extra clothes for him since we were staying at someone else's house, so Mashie dressed him in one of Bailey's sweatshirts. It was pink, but Simon was ok with that. It went with the pink backpack and stroller that he was pushing around. At least he refused to put a doll in the stroller.
After Shabbos we went to visit Granny and Grandpa for a little while. Simon knew exactly where to go when we got out of the elevator and ran right to their door. He got shy when we went inside, but got over it as soon as Granny took out his box of toys and her very loud radio/siren thingy that he likes to play with.
Simon was exhausted when we got back, but David and I wanted to spend some time at the house before going back to where we were staying, so Simon had a sleep-over with Auntie Huvi and Ezra in their room. We told him not to wake up Ezra who was already sleeping and he kept saying "no wake up Ez-u-ra. Ez-u-ra sleeping." When David did actually put him to bed he first had to look at Ezra and see that he was actually sleeping. He loves Auntie Huvi and when he woke up this morning and saw her, he just looked at her and said "hi."
When we got home today, Simon was first very happy to see Chucky who picked us up at the airport. Then he was very happy to see all of his toys and his room. He went right for a nap and slept from 3-6pm. I thought that might make for a late night, but he was asleep by 8:30.
