Simon had a great day at Yaya's yesterday. He got NO time-outs the whole day and was a very good boy. He was the last person to finish lunch and while Yaya was cleaning his hands she told him that he was going to take a nap. He looked at her kind of confused and said "baby sleeping?" He was right--baby Leander was asleep in his carseat in Simon's pack n' play so Simon didn't know where he was going to sleep!
When we got home, Simon went immediately into the den to play with his trains. We played together until David got home and then Simon went with David to watch Thomas on tv while I made dinner. I made a great dinner of artichokes, rice pilaf and a bag of frozen something that I found in the freezer that was totally unidentifiable until after it defrosted in the oven. It turned out to be some chicken wings and a couple of pieces of baked salami. David cut up one piece of salami for Simon and then ate the other too. That was a big mistake because Simon gobbled it up and held up his bowl yelling "more sa-mami pweeeese!" He was so sad that there wasn't anymore, so David had to cut him up some of the much harder to eat dried salami that we always have on hand. Luckily he settled for that. He also ate 2 bites each of 3 little chicken wings and 1/2 an avacado. Not a bad dinner for him.
He was really cute after his bath, wrapped in his towel wearing sunglasses and then David read him lots of stories and put him to bed.
Apparently he went to bed with his Lani Lion book because when he woke up this morning and I went to get him, he was reading it. He immediately wanted to go play with his trains again and didn't even want to watch Elmo. He also got a little bit scared when the kitchen people came to finish the last details of the kitchen (finally!). I told him that it was ok, they were there to fix the kitchen and when we got in the car he said "man feex keeetchen" like he was reassuring himself that it was ok that we were leaving these 2 strange men in our house.
