No more matzah!!

We got back from Virginia this morning and I will try to remember all of the highlights of Passover since I last posted! We enjoyed the rest of our time in Florida--TK babysat for Simon on Monday morning and luckily I came back when I did because I think she was about to dress him up like a girl. Mashie and Bailey arrived on Monday afternoon. Simon calls Bailey "cousin Bailey" and he seems to like her very much. She is smaller than Annie, so I guess that makes her somewhat less scary. The 3 of them played nicely together, although Simon did ask for Coby and Ezra a few times. Unfortunately, they didn't arrive until way after he went to bed on Monday night and then we left before they woke up on Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday, we woke up bright and early and headed to the airport where we flew to Atlanta and then on to Newport News. Simon was great on both flights--him having his own seat makes all the difference. He slept the whole way from Atlanta to Newport News. When we got off the plane, Simon ran over to Papu and gave him a huge hug and kiss. Then we were on our way to Joshua's house. Simon was SO excited when he saw Joshua who had come outside to greet us. Simon ran past him into the house and then stopped in his tracks when he saw Mama and Judy. He greeted them with his usual hysterical crying for a little while. He was happy to see Sarah too, but when she asked him if he knew her name, he said "uh..TK." She said that she's not TK, so he said "uh...Mashie?" He also kept calling Mama and Judy both Gramma Sarah, but he did eventually catch on to everyone's correct names. The only person he did not need help with (aside from Joshua of course) was Jon. As soon as Jon walked in the door, Simon greeted him with a huge "HI UNCLE JON!" It sounds kind of like "unka Jon" and is really cute.
Simon had the best time playing with Joshua. They had a few fights and Joshua taught him about trading one car for one airplane. They played basketball together, they played pool, they built and knocked down towers, they chased each other around, and perhaps the cutest thing they did was sing the ABC's together. We were all eating lunch and not really paying attention to them playing in the living room and then Sarah and I noticed that they were singing together. Joshua obviously knows the alphabet and Simon does not, but he was singing just as loudly anyway.
Simon was exhausted most of the time in Virginia because we were staying at the Inn so he ended up staying up very late every night. At least that meant he slept late in the morning and took long naps in the afternoon.
Last night, when Passover was FINALLY over, Papu took Simon and Joshua to get ice cream for everyone. Before they left, we were all talking about what flavors we wanted. Simon said he wanted "blue" (which he has learned to pronounce correctly instead of boo-loo). Turns out, Coldstone Creamery makes a cotton candy ice cream, which is blue. People had their doubts about Papu's ability to take both boys alone to get ice cream successfully, but it seemed to all work out and the boys came back saying they had a good time.
After the ice cream, Simon looked around the table and said "b'bye. I going n'night now." Unfortunately, he had to stay up a while longer once we got back to the inn because we had to pack. He found a ladybug on the floor and chased it while we were packing and then we all went to sleep. This morning we woke up at 5 for our 7:40 flight home. Simon stayed up for the whole flight and spent most of the time reading the safety information card. He was SO happy to be home--he ran around the whole house playing with his toys and just being very happy. We went to the supermarket and the butcherie, then came home and ate lunch and he's now been asleep for the past 2 hours and 45 minutes!
