Playdate with Silvia

On Friday, Simon had a playdate with Silvia (his friend from Yaya's house) after school. We drove to Coolidge Corner to meet Silvia and her mom. There was no place to park and we were driving around the parking lot in circles for a little while and Simon finally asked "what are we doing?" I explained that we were looking for a parking space and there weren't any. Simon said "can't we park next to that red Mommy's car?" pointing to a red Murano. Unfortunately there wasn't a parking space next to it. We finally found a place to park and went to meet up with Silvia. For some reason Simon kept saying we were going to see Sophia, so he looked a little bit confused for a second when he saw Silvia but then they ran towards each other shrieking and gave each other big hugs.
After lunch, we went to the park at Devotion School. It's kind of weird that kids can play in that park while all the kids who go to school there are at recess. Simon and Silvia were not phased by all the big kids and they ran around and played on all the climbing structures and went down all the slides. Then they found a huge puddle and jumped in it for a long time. Silvia was wearing boots, but Simon was not . They were both soaked and then got even more soaked when we got caught in a sudden torrential downpour. That was when we decided it was time to go! Here are some pictures of Simon and Silvia:
And here is Simon soaking wet back in the car. He stole the car that he is holding from school. It makes a loud noise and I think it got a little bit broken in the rain because now it makes the noise constantly instead of just when you press the button. Today the Roths and the Isaacs came for lunch. Simon played really nicely with Zachary and Emma. After they all left, David and Simon took a very long nap from 4:00 until a little before 7. Eli slept for a little bit as well, but sadly I did not. When David and Simon woke up, they went into the den to play. I followed them and asked Simon if I could play too. He said "sure sure."
