Life's a Beach

We were supposed to spend today moving into our apartment, but the current tenants didn't actually move out yesterday (apparently in Israel, it doesn't really matter what date is on your lease--you can pretty much do whatever you want). It is fine because we needed to buy beds anyway.
We dropped Simon at gan and he went very willingly. Freida gave him a candy bracelet so she was immediately his best friend. As soon as he walked in, one kid looked at him and said "Boker Tov, Simon, ma nishma?" (that means "good morning, Simon, what's up?"). David and Eli and I went to the apartment to make sure the tenants were actually moving out, which they were. We spoke to the owner also and he said he will take us to buy a washer/dryer and that he can get us a good deal on anything we need because he is a contractor. Hopefully we'll do that later this week because the laundry piles up really fast.
After that, David dropped Eli and me at the beach in Tel Aviv where we met up with Huvi, Ezra and Rocky. David came back to Ra'anana to go to the mattress store (I'm really excited because he bought a pillow-top--it's being delivered tomorrow). We had a great time at the beach. Ezra didn't seem all that disappointed that Simon wasn't there because he made friends with the little boy sitting next to us with his father. The father bought Ezra a popsicle which he shared with Eli. Then Ezra saw the father eating bamba and he went over to him and asked for some of that too. The guy was happy to share. We also made friends with an old guy who stopped to talk to Ezra to tell him to put on a hat. Ezra had no idea what the guy was saying because he was speaking in Hebrew. Rocky told the guy that Ezra speaks English, so he switched to English and talked to us for a while about his son and daughter-in-law who just moved to Boston. He drew a whole map in the sand to show me where on Mass Ave they live.
We went to a great restaurant on the boardwalk in Tel Aviv for lunch--one of the very few kosher ones near the beach. David picked up Simon at gan and then came to pick up Eli, Ezra, Huvi and me. We smushed into our car and came back to Vered's. We were going to take the kids to Park Ra'anana, but Eli went to take a nap and Simon and Ezra were exhausted and were happy to watch a movie. So Huvi and I went to the mall for a little while and then we came back and David had had it with the boys who were not behaving. They were really overtired and wouldn't stop fighting. We made them hot dogs for dinner and then David left to drive Huvi and Ezra back to Jerusalem and I bathed Simon and Eli and put them to bed.
I think we are really moving into our place tomorrow, so this may be my last post for a few days until we get internet access. At least then I'll be able to post pictures again.
